Clover Mites

What creatures are tiny, have eight legs and are red all over? Clover mites. While they normally live outdoors, masses of these mini arachnids bask in the sun on the side of buildings. That’s an infestation in the making. Because of their size, they can get indoors with ease, through the smallest gaps in foundations, doors and windows. Once they’re in, they get busy laying eggs in whatever crevices they can find. If you spot these little, red invaders, call Bug Ivey.

About Clover Mites

Most clover mite infestations take place in the spring and fall. All clover mites are actually female. While their lifespan is only two weeks, each mite lays up to 70 unfertilized eggs that hatch in the spring. Before you know it, you can have thousands of them in your home. If you try to remove them, you’re likely to crush them, resulting in red-colored stains on walls, carpets and furniture. That can leave your house looking like a crime scene.
